FutureWorks Academy offers an alternative to the traditionally unstructured entry pathways into the VFX industry. Instead of advertising runner positions and relying on job shadowing to develop skill sets, the academy provides entry-level artists with a clear path to success: the opportunity to learn from senior-level professionals and work on live projects in a structured, tailored, and supportive environment.

The program offered by the academy takes six months to complete and is free of charge. Students must complete three levels to graduate successfully, receiving a certificate for each level completed.
Level One
Level One gives you an overview of the industry, opening up the world of VFX so you can experience it from up close and make an informed decision as to whether this is the right career for you.
Level Two
Level Two allows you to discover your area of interest by training with a senior artist through a paid internship. The intensive training begins here, focusing on providing the technical skills needed to enter the field.
Level Three
The final level is a paid internship which provides the opportunity to work on ongoing projects. You’ll gain hands-on experience as your mentors guide you through the practical aspects of working on a shot which is a game changer for training and development in the VFX industry.
Once you have completed all three levels successfully, you’ll receive a three year service agreement with a remuneration and career development projection.

Head of Training
FutureWorks academy is overseen and managed by Savita Shekhawat, Head of Training. With 25 years of industry experience in artist and leadership roles, she has a wealth of experience spanning 2D cell animation to 3D and more. Working closely with HR and the supervisors involved in the training program, she manages the day-to- day operation of the academy, ensuring the curriculum prioritizes artist growth.
Mentor
Senior prep artist with 10 years of experience, Sheik enjoys helping young minds develop their skills and knowledge. “It has been a rewarding journey, filled with valuable lessons for both my students and myself. I recognize the responsibility to inspire and nurture the next generation of professionals. Seeing my students grow and make a positive impact on their chosen paths motivates me as a mentor.”
Mentor
Kumaran, who has 12 years of experience in the field, began his career in FutureWorks working as a roto artist. “I am extremely interested in artistic paintings. I noticed a large number of new trainee candidates were interested in sequence paintwork and began mentoring them. A lot of candidates learned quickly and showed excellent results, landing a job in FutureWorks as freshers.
Trainer
As a VFX trainer, Renjith is responsible for teaching technical skills. “The interns have varying levels of familiarity with tools, so I tailor my instruction accordingly. My role also requires building confidence in abilities, encouraging them to take on challenges. Being a trainer is a rewarding experience, as I get to share my passion for VFX and contribute to the growth of the next generation of artists.”
